Accreditation is a very important aspect of any educational institution. CCI has colleges which are accredited by both regional and national agencies as well as agencies that accredit specific programs (e.g. Allied Health).

As far as the library is concerned, accreditation visits provide us with the opportunity to look at ourselves to see whether we are in fact, doing our best to give students the necessary resources to be successful. It also gives us a chance to review and update our policies and procedures, conduct surveys and gather statistics.

While many visits are planned far in the future, sometimes they may come unexpectedly. To make sure we know what resources and services are expected of us and our library it's important to know the accreditation criteria by which we are judged.
