Listed below I have information on online databases currently used by FMU campuses and other CCI schools. If you have any questions regading this information please give me a call/email.

Library Information Resource Network (LIRN)

http://www.lirn.org

LIRN is a non-profit corpration based in Largo, Florida. LIRN provides subscriber schools access to online database products from Infotrac (Thomson Gale), ABI Inform (Proquest), eLibrary (Proquest) and Books in Print. These database products also support many of the programs that CCI offers at its college campuses around the country. LIRN is IP driven and allows students, faculty and staff to access the databases on campus as well as from any remote site that has internet capability.

Examples of LIRN databases include: Infotrac (Business and Company Resource Center, Custom Newspapers, Expanded Academic ASAP, General Business File, Health and Wellness Resource Center (Including Alternative Health), Health Reference Center, Literature Resource Center, Opposing Viewpoints and Student Resource Center Gold) Proquest (ABI/Inform, National Newspaper Abstracts, and Psychology Journals.)

If you would like more information regarding the content of these databases or would like a trial set-up for your campus please call me.

Lexisone

http://www.lexisone.com

Lexisone is a legal online resource provided by Lexis/Nexis to help smaller law firms and corporate clients. The services are "pay as you go" which allows these firms to purchase just what they need when they need it. How does this site help us? For whatever reason, Lexisone offers to its registered users supreme court documents back to 1790 and current case law back five years. Lexisone is fulltext and easy to use. So if you have a criminal justice program or a paralegal program with limited use of Westlaw...you may want to give it a try. Registration is free and easy to do!
